  THE CENTER FOR PERFORMING ARTS AT GOVERNORS STATE UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES ITS 15TH SEASON THIS YEAR.

Since December, 1995 The Center has presented over 435 events while playing host to National and Regional companies including Theatreworks/USA and The Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.

Included in the annual season are programs for families and comprehensive Arts in Education Programming which brings over 35,000 children per year to The Center.

Annual seasons at The Center include a diverse array of professional world class artists ranging from the Broadway stage to comedy and the finest music and dance artists. Appearing at The Center over the years have been Bill Cosby, Lily Tomlin, Bob Newhart, Buddy Guy, The Joffrey Ballet, Penn and Teller, The National Russian Ballet, Debbie Reynolds, The Smothers Brothers, Arlo Guthrie, B.B. King, David Crosby and Graham Nash, HAIRSPRAY, CHORUS LINE, CATS, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLORED DREAM COAT, MAGIC TREEHOUSE: THE MUSICAL, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, DRUMLine Live, Jim Brickman, and THE CAPITOL STEPS.

In addition to our mainstage events, The Center presents Saturday morning “Especially for Kids” shows. BIRTHDAY PARTIES CAN BE SCHEDULED AT THE CENTER AFTER "ESPECIALLY FOR KIDS" SHOWS. Call the Box Office, (708) 235-2222, or go to www.centertickets.net for a Birthday Party Request Form.

This year, The Center has a new series, The Cabaret at The Center . . . . See Hot Jazz, and Cool Blues in a cabaret setting on stage at The Center!

The Center is conveniently located off Interstate 57 south of Sauk Trail Road in University Park, Illinois. There are acres of free parking on site.
