"To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong." - Joseph Chilton Pearce
The Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau is the official destination management and marketing organization for the south metropolitan region, representing 61 south and southwest suburbs of Chicago. Working with the Illinois Bureau of Tourism, the CSCVB coordinates sales and marketing of the Chicago Southland as a destination for leisure visitors, meetings and conventions, group tours (motorcoaches), sporting events, and other activities.
With over 72 hotels and motels and more than 7,000 rooms, the Chicago Southland offers a wide array of familiar lodging options, offering full- and limited-service properties. Two exposition facilities and a convention center with adjoining 202-room hotel also serve the region.
The Bureau produces several publications including a Visitors Guide, Travelers Guide, Festivals & Events Guide, Coupon Book, Group Tour Planner and Meeting Planners Guide. These publications not only promote the hotels in the area, but the many attractions, including cultural facilities. Cultural amenities are also promoted through the Chicago Southland website.
