The Music Connection's student ensemble groups, under the direction of Janet Kuester, were invited to perform at the local Orland Park Fine Arts Fair on Sunday for art enthusiasts. The student concert included a variety of classical and contemporary musical selections. "It was a perfect day for art and music, I enjoyed the entire event!"
PIANO STUDENTS RECEIVE AWARDS FROM NATIONAL PIANO GUILD!

The Music Connection's piano students, M.S., A.K. and K.W., all received membership in the National Fraternity of Student Musicians, sponsored by the National Guild of Piano Teachers. This group of young pianists performed in the National Piano-Playing Auditions held at Prairie State College. The American College of Musicians judges evaluated the students' performances based upon their presentation of baroque, classic, romantic and modern works. Throughout the U.S. and abroad, over 100,000 enthusiastic piano pupils participate in the annual National Piano-Playing Auditions, which are held in over 880 music centers.
STUDENT ENSEMBLE GROUP RECEIVES HIGH MARKS
AT HIGH NOTE FESTIVAL! (dated June 2, 2007)
The Music Connection's Student Ensemble Group, under the direction of Janet Kuester, performed both classical and contemporary music selections at the recent High Note Festival in Highland Park, Illinois and were awarded a "Superior Rating" (highest rating) and a trophy award from all judges at the Festival. Performing groups are judged by the highest of standards in technique, skill of playing and performance of the group compositions. Following the festival, the students and families enjoyed a day at Six Flags Great America.
STUDENTS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP! (dated May 19, 2007)
Congratulations to piano students, A.K. and H.C., who were awarded the Harry V. Davidson Memorial Scholarships. Each year, two piano students, studying with The Music Connection, are awarded the scholarship based on enthusiam of piano playing and committment to daily practice. The scholarship program is in memory of Harry V. Davidson, who was a noted piano teacher and accomplished pianist in the Chicagoland area.
STUDENT AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP (dated May 12, 2007)
Congratulations to violin student, A. M., who was awarded the Nancy McCain Memorial Scholarship. Each year, one scholarship is awarded to an Orland Park, IL public grade school student who is interested in studying a string instrument (violin, viola, cello or bass) with The Music Connection. The awardment is based on an essay submitted (see scholarship guidelines) and participation in an Orland Park, IL public school orchestra. The scholarship program is in memory of Nancy McCain, who was a noted public school string music educator in the south suburbs and distinguished member of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra.
